About us
Furcy is a mountainous village 30 miles southeast of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and 5,033 feet above sea level. The climate is refreshing most of the year, with temperatures dropping to 15-degrees C during the winter. It is home to 19,723 impoverished but proud, resilient residents. Most adults are farmers who grow organic vegetables and fruits to sell at nearby markets. The youth are high-spirited but lack quality education and technical training.
The Kids of Furcy Foundation, in partnership with Haiti Futur and Ecole Nationale de Furcy aims to train and empower Furcy's young men and women to support and advance their community. L'ecole Technique de Furcy is a sponsored digital school program designed to prepare students for professional permaculture techniques and other technical skills. The partnership also devised an adult educational program to develop an agricultural ecosystem to promote community sustainability and environmental protection awareness.
